The murder case of Janet Abaroa was unclear until some light was put on it. Even though some people continue to doubt the validity of the conviction against her husband, Raven Abaroa, it is still true that none of his claims made sense.
Although her death caused her family considerable suffering, her newborn son’s motherless situation was a more significant injustice.
To further clarify the circumstances of the case as the years have grown like shrubs over it, ABC’s “20/20” revisit it.
Kaiden Abaroa is the only son of Janet Abaroa and Raven Abaroa. He was born to them on October 17, 2004.
Reportedly, Raven wanted a divorce from his wife, Janet. In his request for a separation, he claimed to have extramarital affairs with multiple women.
Soon after, Janet learned she was pregnant before she had time to comprehend the information.
Janet struggled with her insecurities as a single mother. She told her family and close friends about her worries, and they sought to speak with her husband.
After a while, Raven changed his mind and informed Janet that he would stay with her. However, everything got planned, and he killed her on April 26, 2005.

Raven Abaroa tied the knot to Vanessa Pond while avoiding arrest owing to his alibi. The two met at Kaiden’s daycare center.
Vanessa was a single mother. At Kaiden’s daycare facility, where her daughter was also enrolled, she met Raven.
After spending time together, the two began their relationship. Vanessa also knew the Raven was a widower and that his first wife had been killed.

Soon after the marriage, Raven’s attitude changed. The pair filed for divorce four months after they wed, according to Pond, who disclosed that he became aggressive towards her.
Vanessa talked extensively about her relationship with Raven during The Secret in Her Eyes (2020) episode, which aired on ABC on Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. And Facebook has the video available.

After discovering Janet’s contact lenses were gone from the case, the police connected Abaroa to her murder.
